Rugby Farm is one of the largest and longest serving suppliers of a major supermarket chain in Australia.
Committed to continually supplying high quality fresh produce for over 100 years, Rugby Farm has a long standing record of innovation and adoption of technology.
One of the big picture opportunities Rugby Farm have invested in is the post-harvest Quality Management system, Greenlight Quality Control by Muddy Boots Software, that has the unique advantage of being integrated 'plugged in' with their supermarket customer.
Stephen Blatchly, Quality Manager at Rugby Farm explains "Since implementing the Greenlight QC system that is 'plugged in' to our retailer, we have been able to reduce our rejection percentage to around 0.5% or below, we have achieved one of the lowest rejection rates of any produce supplier to our retailer for the past couple of years."
Stephen continues, "We use the QC system at all of our packing and dispatch locations. It helps us maintain consistent quality of product for our retailer."
"We always have the most up to date product specifications at our fingertips, including photos of what is acceptable and what is out of specification.
If our retailer makes a change to a specification, our system is updated instantly. We don't have to do anything else and we have the confidence that each time we send our products they will be accepted at the DC."
Located in Gatton Australia, Rugby Farm produces over 10,000 acres of vegetable crops each year throughout their four regions, continually succeeding to prosper with their commitment to innovation, technology and quality.
