Greenlight Grower Management provides transparency and closes gaps

Farmers Agri-Care in South Africa provides technical support and agronomy advice for their farmers, as well as supplying agricultural chemicals and fertiliser inputs. John Grant owns their distribution and agronomy base in Winterton, Natal. John was keen to find a software solution that helped them to track product usage, farm crop profitability, monitor diseases and pests and to improve communication between their agronomy team and the farming community.

Alex Eggers, an agronomy team member with Farmers Agri-Care Winterton, explains how Greenlight Grower Management from Muddy Boots was the answer to their problems. “The program offers a great report breakdown of farm expenses and various operation costs, making planning and profitability per field more transparent. Product use reports and activity reporting helps the farmers monitor exactly what they are using on their fields and how. ”

“Muddy Boots has been extremely receptive to our needs and have supported us to mould the program to suit our requirements. The system includes a vast agrochemical product range which, together with the template functionality, allows recommendations to be made quickly and easily for our farmers.”

The greatest impact for Farmers Agri-Care has been the transparency the platform has given them of costings per field and crop. It has also helped them to close the communication gap between farmers and their agronomists by allowing them to share farm data and recommendations at the click of a button through the cloud-based software.

“Greenlight Grower Management has made a real difference to our business. It has enabled us to identify specific costs associated with key growing activities. Farmers can use this to improve their field based activity and be smarter when managing input costs and planning planning expenditure.”
