Bakkavör, a leading fresh prepared foods and produce provider, has supplied prepared fruit to Marks and Spencer since 1995. In 2003 M&S introduced Field to Fork, a new programme to fully address their supply chain quality improvement goals. Greenlight Assessments from Muddy Boots Software was implemented to enable efficient data capture to help them manage compliance processes across their extensive and complex supply chain.
"Greenlight Assessments can be used both in the office and on remote devices, so audit reports can be completed in the field," states Niall Cameron, Produce Technical Manager at Bakkavor Group. "Although PAFs could be completed on a laptop, this was often not easy to use out on the farm, so audits tended to be recorded on paper and written up in the office later.
"Through the Greenlight Assessments iPad App, our audits have become quicker, easier and slicker to complete. The interface is intuitive and easy to use; it is easy to complete the audit on site and even validate and upload it. Thanks to the Assessments App, that data only needs to be entered once, it’s then immediately available for anyone to access and analyse.
In the last year, we have completed nearly 300 audits in the system, saving a significant amount of management time. Greenlight Assessments has been so efficient in relation to the work we’re doing with M&S and Waitrose, it was logical for us to put our in-house audit on the same system as well."
